First, I had to take the movie "Groundhog Day” and distil it into some raw information, taking out the important things to highlight from the film. After collecting the information, it needed to be represented in an infographic that showed off the timeline of the movie, the character relationships, and important quotes. Each of these points had to be highlighted and allow the viewer to understand the plot and main themes of the film.
Due to the theme of the film being repeating one day over and over, a circular format for the graphic seemed to make sense. I wanted to show the relationships between the three main characters and their moods throughout each scene. Making a simple icon of the main characters heads and making colored lines to each scene allows someone to see who of the main characters are in a particular scene, and what they are feeling. Each break in the circle signals the end of February second and then the beginning of February second again. On the outside of the circle there are quotes from the scene that they are next to, each of the quotes are ones that express the mood and tone of the film at that time. After a few attempts on a white background, I placed everything on a black background, which made the lines pop out much better I also curved the lines to allow more readability.
After some touch ups in the arrows and moving the "Febuary second" the final product was clean and readable.
